Deanna Blevins, was born in Victoria, B.C.. Her artistic talents were recognized and nurtured during her childhood. For many years, raising three children and working outside the home took precedence over her desire to paint. In 1973, she and her family moved North on Vancouver Island to Courtenay, where she renewed her interest in art. In 1986, with the encouragement of her mentor, John Millhill, Deanna decided to pursue her art full-time. Her main interests are heritage and marine scenes which she executes in oils with meticulous detail and vivid colours.

Deanna's work has found its way into collections throughout B.C., Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax and into the U.S.A. as well as in corporate collections. Several fishing magazines have featured her work on their covers and B. C. Telephone reproduced one of her paintings on the cover of their marine directory.

Deanna is an active member and past president of the Comox Valley Federation of Canadian Artists.
