Since it takes us about 6 hours to get from our home on Salt Spring Island to the city of Vancouver, we try to make the most of opportunities to visit my home city.  This time we combined visiting my mother with a photography and bird watching session in Stanley Park, a diverse recreation and natural forest area right next to the downtown core, comprised of about 405 hectares of native West Coast vegetation. The trees shrouded in fog early in the morning definitely looked more haunting than usual, especially when two crows landed on the branch that I was photographing. The dramatic twists of the main branch capture the eye and lead into the depth of the photograph. On analyzing it on the screen in my studio once I was home again, I noticed the tracery of delicate lines caused by the infinite overlapping fine branches that the lens was able to capture.
