In this painting I used the portrait of Sarah Fermor, painted to imitate the painting technique "fresco" in the foreground with a sakura branch in the forefront. Sarah's portrait was painted in the 18th century by the great Russian portraitist and icon painter Ivan Yakovlevich Vishnyakov. The girl is painted as a lady-in-waiting, constrained by her dress and etiquette. But how much poetic tenderness, charm and liveliness the artist conveyed. She is as beautiful as this blossoming branch. I wanted to express my admiration for the artist's work. The fresco with its ruined fragments and the Greek vase, adorn with ancient ornaments, in which the sakura branch rests, gives a sense of the eternity of art. No matter how far away from us it was created historically, it lives with us, lives in us and is experienced by us today...
