"I am an Anglophile. Perhaps it was Christopher Robin and Winnie the Pooh. Perhaps it is because I was born a British subject (before our 1967 constitution). I love visiting England and I think of it as an important part of my heritage. Thus I was delighted to be associated with the Tryon Gallery in London...one of the world's foremost dealers in wildlife art.

Aylmer Tryon (the younger brother of a Lord) lived in a thatched village, Great Durnford, near Stonehenge and Salisbury. His house was on an old mill on the Wiltshire Avon River. A short walk along the river brought me to a small stone church that goes back to Norman times. The river had the feeling of Wind in the Willows. One evening I saw this family of mute swans. It was just at dusk and it was magical."
