About Victoria Heryet
Victoria Heryet was born in Yorkshire, England and came to Canada as a teenager. She studied Graphic Design at the Kootenay School of Art and developed her illustration and lettering portfolio by working with agencies and publications. Her children’s book illustrations have been published in Japan and Korea.
Currently she is enjoying working in watercolours with pen and ink, and she is fascinated by architectural elements, painting old buildings in a detailed illustrative style. Her works are inspired by her travels through historic neighbourhoods locally, across Europe and in North America. She is also intrigued by unusual collections of quirky items.
Her work is featured in corporate collections including the Port of Vancouver. Of significant note, she was commissioned to complete a series of paintings for the Empress Hotel. Prints of the paintings are featured throughout the hotel and the originals are now in their permanent collection.
In 2017 she was honoured to have my coin design selected as a National Finalist in the Canadian Mint’s coin design contest celebrating Canada’s 150th birthday.
Victoria works from her amazing studio-with-a-view in beautiful North Saanich, BC.
