"It was a summer sunrise and all was quiet and still at Manson’s Landing. It would be hours before the children and picnicking families came to splash and paddle and fill the air with boisterous play. Now though, as the tide slowly, imperceptibly filled the lagoon, an otter was the only thing moving. Swimming silently on its morning rounds, breaking the mirrored surface of the water."
