Rainforest marble is a stone that I self-quarried for years on an abandoned logging road high above Ucluelet on the west coast of Vancouver Island. However, the BC Gov’t ordered all unused logging roads on the Island to be de-assessed, so since 2000, I have not been able to get any more of this wonderful marble. I have a limited supply in my studio inventory. My colleagues, Babe Gunn and George Pratt and I dubbed the stone rainforest marble, after the temperate rainforests of the area above which we found the stone.
