In 2008 at the Venice Architectural Biennale, the German pavilion had many electrical cords leading into the building at the back.  It struck me as looking very much like a contemporary art installation that one might see in a gallery in New York City. The yellow electric cords echoed the vertical lines of the classic pillars and created amusing interlocking curving lines at the bottom third of the composition, reminiscent of spaghetti. The rectangular black plastic boxes add depth to the composition and help to anchor the image.
