I often paint at Esquimalt Lagoon, usually with a group of fellow painters.  When the wind is up and the waves are breaking, the gulls tend to hang out on the logs as if they are having a good chat about the weather. Painting crashing waves is pure fun, all that white paint, moving it around with the painting knife, pushing and pulling until it feels right.
