Famous for its surf, Chesterman Beach near Tofino, B.C. is well known as the epicentre of Canada’s west coast surfing culture. But even if you are not into surfing it is a gorgeous place to walk at any time of year. When I was first a resident of Tofino in the 1980s I rented a cabin in three different locations on the beach and have painted the various moods of the Chestermans on many occasions.
