"Abstract Study - Man and Bird" is completely carved from a six-foot piece of maple burl. Incredible grain, one of a kind. When viewing this carving , it lends itself to curiosities and questions.
Lynn is a four time World Champion Interpretive Carver, the only woman to win a World Title in the 49 year history of the Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art World Carving Championship, held annually in Ocean City, Maryland. "Abstract Study - Man and Bird" received a third in People's Choice Award, 2019, and Lynn was presented with the Ward Foundation's 2019 Living Legend Award for her contributions to the evolution and conservation of the Artform.
"Abstract Study - Man and Bird" received three Awards from Artists for Conservation's 2020 annual exhibition: AFC Medal of Excellence that are given annually to a small number of artists participating in AFC's Annual Exhibit in recognition of extraordinary artwork within the exhibit. Award selections are made by the Exhibit jury. Best in Show Award that is given annually to an artist whose artwork is selected for inclusion in AFC's annual juried exhibit, and is recognized by the exhibit judges to as the best artwork in the show for it's environmental statement and artistic representation. Environmental Statement Award that is awarded to an artist whose artwork is selected for inclusion in AFC's annual juried exhibit, and is recognized by the exhibit judges to convey a particularly poignant environmental message.
