Mark Hobson (Prints)

The small town of Bamfield on the west coast of Vancouver Island was not accessible by road until the late1960s. Even today the main thoroughfare through the middle of the community is the inlet, and boats are far more useful than cars. The boardwalks, wooden houses, and old docks are an irresistible subject to paint. The main challenge was getting all the various perspectives of the decks and boardwalks to make sense from this view as I was working from imagination.
