During a winter bird watching and photography walk through Stanley Park in Vancouver, I was listening to a bird song and trying to find the bird in the trees and shrubbery. Then I looked down at the dramatic and constantly changing surface of the water of Lost Lagoon. Using my first good digital camera, a Canon EOS 20D set on the tripod, I was able to stop the action of the rippling water. When I looked at the images on my computer screen back home, I was amazed at how much detail there was, even in the black areas.
