“I love water and it’s exciting, ever-changing patterns. In a sense, this painting was meant to be empty of any center of interest. This painting was meant to be empty of any center interest. It was meant to be simply a view down into a pond, almost Zen-like. We have all done this kind of thing hundreds of times, our minds peacefully wandering about nothing in particular. Suddenly, a tight little flash catches the eye; it is the metallic glitter of a tree swallow which, in a moment, will be gone.”
