"Silent Witness" is a depiction of a threatened Penguin species observing a changing environment influenced by climate change. Adélie Penguins are native to the Antarctic Continental coastline. The threat of melting ice is reflected in the carving. The carving, from a single piece of southern Cypress, is finished with a blend of acrylic paint and ink, protected by archival varnish and wax.
