Interpretive sculpture

The carving is a study of classic designs of womens' hats, many using dramatic feathers of exotic game birds, such as the Silver Pheasant.

This unusual piece of Douglas Fir, shapes in the natural form gently reminded her of arranged feathers. The patterns in the Fir resulted from the stump of a tree "healing" itself and growing over.

Lynn is a highly regarded internationally, Vancouver Island female carver. Having many achievements which include, four Best in World awards from the Ward Foundation World Championships in Ocean City, Maryland. In 2019 Lynn was a recipient of "Living Legends" award.

Lynns passion for the beauty of wood is life long. Protecting our natural world is formost on her mind.
