The inspiration for this sculpture was the
stones, colour. The white and black patterning
immediately made me think of a Gyrfalcon.
Flying, I wanted it to have a sense of
movement, out and away, no longer part of
the stone. The back of the sculpture is the raw
natural outer crust of the marble; countless
raindrops have over thousands of years
formed the undulating surface.
