Tides of Transformation is created with the delicate interplay of merino wool and silk, this piece evokes the essence of the boundless sea and the eternal cycle of transformation. The spiral shape mirrors the journey of life—a continuous unfolding from birth, through moments of joy and sorrow, to the profound transformation of the soul into the universal energy of love and unity.
This work was deeply inspired by Amy Karswell’s moving poem "Wild Sea of Emotions." Her words resonate with the ebb and flow of human experience, capturing the tides of fear, sadness, hope, and renewal. Like the ocean, life is in constant motion, and this piece reflects that dynamic energy—the way emotions can crash and subside, only to rise again with newfound strength and clarity.
The soft textures of the merino wool and the shimmering silk mimic the waves and light of the sea, inviting the viewer to explore their own emotional depths. Ocean Spiral is not just a representation of transformation but an invitation to embrace it, to honour the wild seas within and trust that happiness, like the tide, will always return.
