Join Us April 18: Philip Buytendorp Returns for a Spotlight Show

We’re thrilled to welcome back one of our favourite artists, Philip Buytendorp, for a special one-person show on Saturday, April 18, from 12–3 PM.

Philip has called Chilliwack home for many years, drawing endless inspiration from the surrounding landscapes. His work is known for its bold brushwork, rich textures, and expressive use of colour, capturing forests, prairies, coastlines, and shifting skies with a sense of movement and atmosphere that feels distinctly Canadian. Balancing abstraction and representation, his paintings invite both emotional connection and quiet reflection.

Although we’ve stayed in close contact over the years, it has been a full decade since Philip last visited our gallery in person. This makes his return especially meaningful and not to be missed.

This is a rare opportunity to experience his latest work in person, and even better, to meet Philip and hear firsthand about his creative process. If you’ve long admired his paintings, we invite you to join us for this special afternoon and connect with the artist behind the work.
