About Sandy Terry
Originally from northern New Jersey, Sandy was inspired to create by having rich exposure to galleries, museums and theater in the cultural hub of the NJ/NYC area. She came to central Canada as an exchange student while attending University and currently embraces the West Coast of British Columbia as her home. Every day she delights in the abundant natural beauty surrounding her!
Sandy Terry paints award-winning, dramatically elegant florals in acrylic. She also recently began to paint koi. She has garnered recognition as a Senior Signature Status member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (SFCA), the highest honour within this National professional artists organization. She is also an elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists (SCA), another respected artists organization based out of Toronto.
Sandy is drawn to capture the simple elegance in the curve of a leaf, subtle shifts in color and the radiance of light as it interacts with form, all in a moment in time. Her work is dramatically representational, with loosely flowing brushwork and richly layered pigment to achieve greater depth. Her vibrant renderings embody the essence of splendor and grace in Nature’s timeless canvas.
