The Stone King
Lake Superior, Northern Ont.

The Stone King slept a long and dreamless sleep for a million years or more.

Until, one day, he heard the clouds call out to him as they passed by.

“Wake up!” they said. “Your hiding away serves no one. Leave behind that weight of history that does not define you anymore.

You are nothing but a breath in the sky and all your fears are specks of dust.”

Come away! Come away!” they said. “Hold the light in your belly again and look at life through sky eyes.”
